stress & diabetes

My child was bullied at 12 years old so bad at school for over a year. had his head stamped on and was unconscious all because he was small and wouldn't do what the bullies wanted him to do, smoke and take drugs.
I as a mother know that the stress that he suffered caused him to get diabetes 1 as there is no diabetes on either side of his family. This has yet to be proven, but one day it will as more children are getting bullied or stressed and are developing diabetes 1.
A friend was in a car crash at 23, not seriously hurt and developed diabetes 1 possibly through the shock and stress he endured.
Please please look into this...i was told diabetes ran in families ...not in both these cases.
from a mother...X nurse
