I Learned I Had Type 2 Diabetes

About five years ago I learned that I have type 2 diabetes. My doctor told me that I should watch my sugar intake and exercise regularly. Since then, I had been lazy about it and my sugar got worse. I was put on Glyburide previously and my dose had to be increased. A few months ago I started seeing a new nutritionist and a nurse practitioner to try getting it under control again. I now test my glucose daily. It was a pain at first and was difficult to get to the suggested levels. But after a couple weeks it started making a difference. Having to fast between meals and overnight before testing has forced me to eat less and therefore lowered both my sugar and weight. I'm still losing weight now and I'm more motivated to watch my sugar and exercise. I hope this helps. You can do it too!
