Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas. It can either be considered as acute or chronic depending on how mild or severe the pain and the damage in the pancreas is. Fortunately, just like any other health conditions, there are also several ways on how to treat pancreatitis. Some people opt to use pancreatitis remedies that came from herbs. They say that it is more natural and would not give any negative side effects to the body. Others who have pancreatitis recommend that one of the best pancreatitis remedies is to change your previous lifestyle including your diet. Below are some of the remedies advised by the doctors as well as other people who already had experienced pancreatitis.

Eating the right foods is considered as one of the excellent pancreatitis remedies. Those who have pancreatitis and those who have recovered from pancreatitis must prevent eating foods that are sweet. Moreover, fried foods especially foods that are totally submerged in the oil before it can be cooked must not be included in your diet as well. Also, avoid foods that are rich in MSG or Monosodium Glutamate. And last but not the least, anybody who has an inflamed pancreas must avoid drinking alcohol so that the current condition will not get worse.

Changing your eating habits is also one of the pancreatitis remedies. Avoid eating a plate full of food during your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Instead, eat small meals. Small meals would make you hungry easily, therefore you should eat at least four or five times every day. A meal that is high in carbohydrates can be helpful if you are experiencing pancreatitis or if you have just recovered from pancreatitis. Moreover, it should be high in protein and low in fat at the same time.

There is also no harm if you want to use natural herbs as your pancreatitis remedies. Chinese have been using various herbs to cure different kinds of health conditions. And there are a lot of people who can testify that herbs really do wonders even for pancreatitis. Some herbs can be taken as is while other herbs are needed to be combined with another herb before it becomes effective. There are at least nine herbs that are recommended for pancreatitis namely Rhizoma Coptidis, Rhizoma Corydalis, Herba Artemisiae Scopariae, Radix Curcumae, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Spina Gleditsiae, Radix Aucklandiae, Radix Scutellariae, and the Rhizoma Sparganii.

Pancreatitis remedies are also available from drugstores. You can buy these pancreatitis remedies as long as you have the permission of your doctor. Most importantly, you must be guided by your physician. However, these are just pain relievers. Make sure that if you buy over-the-counter products that would relieve the pain you are not buying the product that could worsen the inflammation in your pancreas. Avoid drugs that have corticosteroids. There are also some antibiotics that could worsen the pain on your inflamed pancreas. Morever, try to take oral supplements having antioxidants including Vitamin C, Beta-carotene, Selenium, Vitamin E, and more.
