Strawberry Smoothie Recipe for Diabetic Snacking
This strawberry smoothie recipe is a real treat on your diabetic meal plan!
1 carton (8 ounces) plain yogurt
1/4 cup skim milk
1 tsp Equal for Recipes or 3 packets Equal, or 2 tbsps Equal spoonful
3 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup ice cubes
Combine yogurt, milk, and Equal in blender container. With blender running, add berries, a few at a time, through opening in lid. Blend until smooth, add ice cubes one at a time through opening in lid, blending until slushy. Pour into glasses and serve.
Orange Jubilee Smoothie for Diabetic Snacking
To make an orange smoothie, add the following ingredients to a blender:
1 small can (6 ounces) frozen orange juice concentrate
2 1/4 cups skim milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 3/4 tsps Equal for recipes or 6 packets Equal or 1/4 cup of Equal spoonful
8 ice cubes
Process orange juice concentrate, milk, vanilla, and Equal in food processor or blender until smooth. Add ice cubes and process again until smooth. Serve in small glasses, sprinkle with nutmeg or cinnamon, if desired.
