Fast Fruit Shakes
These Fast Fruit Shakes
are a low-fat shake made with nonfat yogurt and skim milk.
Ingredients for Fast Fruit Shakes
1 cup plain nonfat yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk
2 medium peaches or nectarines, sliced (about 2 cups)
1 cup fresh strawberries, or 1 cup frozenunsweetened strawberries, partially thawed
1 banana, sliced
1 tablespoon wheat germ (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon or nutmeg
4 ice cubes
Fresh mint sprigs and strawberries for garnish
1. In a blender, combine the yogurt, milk, peach or nectarine slices, 1 cup strawberries, banana, wheat germ, vanilla, and cinnamon. Add the ice cubes.
2. Blend until smooth and foamy, about 30 seconds. If mixture is too thick, add a few more ice cubes and blend until smooth.
3. Pour mixture into chilled glasses. Garnish with mint sprigs and berries and serve.
